Grass-fed under that big Montana sky.
Better for you, better for the planet.
About Us
Our cows are pasture-raised in Ekalaka, Montana on a small ranch owned by my parents (pictured here) and grandparents. We slaughter at a USDA-certified facility in Miles City, Montana where the beef is aged, vacuum-packed, and frozen. Then we drive the frozen beef to Denver where it is stored for your consumption.
Products
We sell the whole beef, one animal at a time.
This is our model:
You buy delicious, grass-fed, grass-finished freezer beef in variety packs, eighths, quarters, halves, or wholes.
Why is grass-fed better?
When animals have room to graze, they improve land use, nutrient and manure management, and soil health. All those benefits translate into a reduced carbon footprint.
Plus, grass-fed meat is more ethical, sustainable, and nutrient-dense than industrial meat. It has more antioxidants, omega-3s, trace minerals, and vitamins.
Is frozen as good as fresh?
In my experience, there is no difference in taste or texture. In fact, frozen beef may be more tender because fresh, conventionally marketed beef goes through its aging process during transport. So if you happen to be first on the delivery that week, your beef hasn’t aged enough.
